Seal windows and doors. Check weather-stripping and replace as needed.
Winterise outdoor water pipes.
Winter (December–February)
Shovel snow off the roof during heavy snowfall. Snow weight is a leading cause of roof damage.
Watch for ice dams at the roof edge, they can cause leaks.
Test smoke detectors and replace batteries.
Keep escape routes clear and sand icy paths.
Book spring jobs now, good tradespeople are booked three months out.
