What a handyman may not do

Fixed electrical installations require a registered electrical installation company. Running new cable, replacing wall sockets or working in the consumer unit is not handyman work, whatever anyone promises.

Work on supply water and drainage behind waterproofing requires Säker Vatten accreditation, and bathroom renovation requires GVK or BKR. Without it your home insurance will not cover water damage.

Load bearing walls, balconies and facade work require a permit or notification to the city. Always ask before you cut.
