How to budget for a bathroom renovation in Sweden

Bathroom renovations in Sweden typically cost 80,000–250,000 SEK depending on size, materials and scope. Getting the budget right is the difference between a great project and an unpleasant surprise.

What's actually included in the cost?

Labour makes up 50–60% of the total: demolition, plumbing, electrical, tiling, grouting and painting. Materials, tile, sanitary porcelain, taps, vanities, make up the rest.

Don't forget waterproofing membrane and planning permission (if load-bearing walls are touched). The membrane is invisible but critical; a poorly installed one leads to moisture damage that costs hundreds of thousands to fix.
